Vito Albino was born on 10 September 1957, in 1982 he got the laurea degree in mechanical engineering. Visiting scholar (1986) at the University of Cincinnati (USA) and visiting professor (1994) at the University of South Florida (Tampa, USA), from 1988 to 2000 he has taught Engineering Management at the University of Basilicata, Italy. He is now Full Professor of Innovation and Project Management at the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy. Member of several national and international associations, he is author of more than 70 papers published on national and international journals and conference proceedings in the fields of project management, operations management, firm clusters.

Nunzia Carbonara was born in Bari (Italy) on February 15th 1969. She got her Ph.D. in Engineering of Advanced Production Systems at the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy, in 1999. She is now Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic of Bari. She was visiting research fellow (2001) at the University of Central England (Birmingham, UK). Her research interests are focused around geographical clusters and local development, including inter-firm networks. Her PhD research analysed the evolutionary processes of Italian Industrial Districts and the role of leader firms in the inter-firm network within the industrial districts. She is involved in many national and international research projects and associations and she is author of papers published on national and international journals and conference proceedings.

Ilaria Giannoccaro was born on October 9th 1974. In 1998 she got laurea degree in Mechanical Engineering and in 2001 she got Ph.D. in Business Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy). She now is Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy. She is author of several papers published on international journals and conference proceedings. Her main research interests include supply chain management, inventory management, and supply chain contracts. She is currently studying the application of multi-agent systems to the analysis of industrial clusters.
