Javier Pajares is lecturer in Business and Economics at the University of Valladolid, Spain, within the research team “Grupo de Ingeniería de Organización”. He graduated from the University of Valladolid in Industrial Engineering (1991). He worked for the Spanish Oil Company Repsol (1991-96), at the Crude and Commodities Department. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2001, from the University of the Basque Country. His current research interests include innovation and R&D management, industrial policy design and assessment, valuation of R&D investments and computer simulation of industry evolution.

Adolfo López is lecturer in Business and Economics at the University of Valladolid. He graduated from the University of Oviedo in Industrial Engineering (1994) and obtained his Ph.D. in 2000 on applications of agent-based simulation to economic analysis, in the University of the Basque Country. His research interests within the INSISOC Group (“Engineering Social Systems Group”) include computer simulation of social and economic behaviour and industrial policy.

Cesáreo Hernández, is head of the "Grupo de Ingeniería de Organización" and professor of Business and Economics at the University of Valladolid, Spain. He graduated from the University in Barcelona in Industrial Engineering( 1970) and Economics (1974). He obtained his Ph.D. in 1975 on applications of Control Theory to Econometrics. He worked in time series analysis in econometric modelling as a postgraduate at the L.S.E. and Imperial College(London) (1971-74). His current research interests include economic methodology and socioeconomic systems simulation.
