Igor Mezic

Igor Mezic is a professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of California, Santa Barbara. He works in the field of dynamical systems and control theory and applications including fluid mechanics, micro and nanoscale processes and complex interconnected systems, including applications to systems biology. Prof. Mezic's current research is centered around operator-theoretic approach to analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems, applications in microfluidics and (bio)-nanotechnology. He completed his Ph. D. in Applied Mechanics at the California Institute of Technology in 1994. Professor Mezic and his students develop methods to analyze and control nonlinear dynamical systems and apply these methods to understand issues of theoretical and practical relevance for design and analysis of interconnected complex systems.
