Martin Neumann received a Ph.D. in philosophy in 2002 at the university of Osnabrueck. From 2003 until 2007 he worked as a Lecturer at the department for Social Sciences at the University of Osnabrueck. Currently he works as a research assistant in the Project 'Emergence in the Loop' (EmiL: IST-033841) funded by the Future and Emerging Technologies programme of the European Commission, in the framework of the initiative 'Simulating Emergent Properties in Complex Systems' at Bayreuth University.
