Scott Moss is the director of the Centre for Policy Modelling in Manchester Metropolitan University. His research focuses on the development of methodologies and techniques for computational modelling of social and other complex systems. Currently he is working on canonical task environments which support replication, comparison and evaluation of a range of published simulation models within a single simulated environment, various projects integrating physical and social modelling and intelligent information agents that autonomously develop information markets. He has published two books trying to point out to economists how they might do good science (he failed) and edited a third book on economics and artificial intelligence. He has published numerous papers on economic theory, history and methodology and, more recently, on social simulation software and methodologies applied to organizations, robotics, drinking and transition economies.
