William's Daré is currently a PhD student in sociology at ENGREF. He works in the Cemagref Irrigation Research Unit, Montpellier, France. The subject of his research deals with the analysis of the use of agent-based model and role-playing game with stakeholders involved in negotiation process on water management in irrigated systems.

Dr Olivier Barreteau is a water scientist, currently with the Cemagref Irrigation Research Unit. After a PhD with Cirad on Multi-Agent Systems applied to study co-ordination among farmers in irrigated systems of Senegal river middle valley, he is now focusing his research on negotiation support tools, notably Agent Based Models and Role-Playing Games, for local and negotiated water basin management.
