Mr. Mikola Lysenko graduated with a B.Sc in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University in 2008. At Michigan Tech., he worked with Dr. Roshan D'Souza on a variety of applied computational problems in engineering and social sciences. In 2007, he received an honorable mention in the Computing Research Association's outstanding undergraduate research award. Also in 2007, he was a world finalist in the ACM Intercollegiate Programming Competition. In his spare time, he develops open source software and is active in the D community.

Roshan M. D'Souza
Dr. Roshan M. D'Souza is an assistant professor at the Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI. His research interests include complex systems, high-performance computing, computational geometry, manufacturing, and control theory. He is particularly interested in using novel data-parallel computing architectures such as graphics processing units to solve problems in simulation and interactive design for manufacture feedback in mechanical design. He is currently working with collaborators in systems biology to implement large-scale biological ABMs on graphics processing units. For his work on agent-based modeling, he is the recipient of the 2008 ASME Computers and Information in Engineering Young Engineer Award.
