A. O. I. Hoffmann

Arvid (A.O.I.) Hoffmann is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Economics at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), and works in the field of behavioral finance. He has published on a multi-theoretical research approach towards investor and financial markets behavior. He is especially interested in the interactions between the micro and the macro level and combining empirical and simulation research. He has developed the artificial stock market SimStockExchange in which agents with empirically validated trading and interaction rules engage in market interactions in different types of social networks, generating macro level results, which are subsequently compared to real macro level results. This paper presents on the results of the first series of experiments with SimStockExchange.

W. Jager

Wander Jager is associate Professor at the Department of Marketing of the University of Groningen, and works in the field of consumer behaviour. He has published on a multi-theoretical approach of consumer behaviour. Moreover, he is working on the multi- agent simulation of consumer behaviour. He is interested in the development and application of behavioural simulations on topics such as consumer choice behaviour, social networks, innovation diffusion, crowd and riot control, and the management of collective resources.

J. H. Von Eije

Henk (J.H.) von Eije is associate professor in Finance at the Faculty of Management and Organization of the University of Groningen. In his PhD he developed a simulation program to evaluate the value of reinsurance to insurance companies. He, moreover, published e.g., on social security, insurance, corporate finance, development finance, and the operation of financial markets. He was at the board of the Dutch disablement funds and is in the editorial board of the major Dutch Business Journal (MAB), the book series of Management Education and Development and services as reviewer of various international journals.
